Default Is open source secure? - 08-16-2017, 06:29 AM

I am thinking about developing a website through open source so I want to know that open source is safe or not. Or do I have to use something to protect my website?

You can develop your website through open source it is not a problem, many people do that but I think you should use open source static code analysis tools to be sure that your website will be free from any kind of security or injection threats. So, develop your website but just use the tools to check the coding errors.

Actually the thing is open source software is built by communities of developers with the source code publically available. Hacker can also access. But there are some ways to secure them as well.
